NATO F-10 aircraft intercept Russian planes on the Baltic Sea

New episode in September

The Belgian Air Force announced on the social network "Twitter" that, on September 17th, two F-16 aircraft on a mission for Brussels NATO would intercept Russian Tu-160 and Su-27 airplanes as they flew over the Baltic Sea.

This would be the first episode since last September 3rd, when a branch of the Brussels aviation took command of the 51st mission "Baltic Air Policing" (BAP).

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) also declared at the beginning of August that F-22 and Hornet CF-18 aircraft had left in "scramble" mode and then escorted two Russian fighters near Alaska.

The US claimed that on June 5, over the Mediterranean, a Russian Sukhoi Su-35 aircraft would intercept the American Poseidon P-8A three times. Russia's defense ministry rejected the US charges, reiterating that all flights were carried out in compliance with international airspace usage standards.
