"Pacific dragon" military exercise started
Training with military ships in Hawaii will end August 14, 2022
Kicking off today in the waters of Hawaii are the "Pacific Dragon" military exercises, functional to test defense capabilities against ballistic missiles. Naval assets from the US Navy, Japan's Navy, and South Korea's Navy will participate as usual, with Australia and Canada in special attendance. The training, held every two years, will end on August 14, 2022.
The "Pacific Dragon" military exercise fleet consists of 8 ships and 2 aircraft, which will be mobilized to improve coordination in detecting, tracking and notifying ballistic missiles. A scenario agreed upon at the Shangri-La preparatory meeting in Singapore last June 11. These exercises are being carried out in a more discreet form, with the aim of facilitating diplomatic contacts with North Korea.
