Japan increases controls on coronavirus

Border restrictions on connections with China

The government of Japan decided to step up checks on passengers crossing the border with China. This measure will come into force on Friday, December 30, according to what was announced today by the Prime Minister of the Japanese government Fumio Kishida. In fact, a new wave of cases of contagion from Covid-19 is being recorded in the Land of the Dragon; this will result in a decrease in air connections between the two Asian countries.

Tokyo has announced that anyone arriving from China will be asked to swab to detect any contagion of the virus. If the test result is positive, the person under analysis will have to remain in isolation for seven days in a quarantine center. Japan's decision is linked to the fact that Beijing had recently removed the harsh restrictions envisaged until recently by the zero-Covid policy.
