Zelensky intensifies the production of national drones and strengthens the air shield with partners
Crucial meetings this week for the defense and financing of UAV production, which already has French support/VIDEO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced a series of key meetings this week with partner countries, aimed at boosting drone production on Ukrainian territory and strengthening the country's air defense. Kyiv's primary objective is to develop a robust "Made in Ukraine" drone supply chain, essential to counter Russian aggression. "We are constantly reinforcing Ukraine’s air shield, and it is crucial to maintain a clear understanding among partners on how exactly they can contribute", Zelensky stated on "X". "Step by step, we are closing the funding gap for drone production, and later this week, I will hold new talks with partners on this matter".
These discussions take place within a context of intense diplomatic dialogue regarding Ukraine's security and defense. In recent hours, the Ukrainian President had a "productive and substantive conversation" with French President Emmanuel Macron. The talks covered several critical areas of cooperation:
"We discussed Ukraine’s main defense needs, primarily the strengthening of our air defense", Zelensky reported it. "We need reliable protection against Russian missiles and drones. We talked about delivering additional missiles for the SAMP/T and Crotale systems. We also extensively discussed financing for Ukrainian drone production of all types. France is ready to assist us in this, and we will work together".
Another agenda item was the training of Ukrainian pilots on Mirage aircraft: Zelensky expressed deep gratitude for France’s ongoing support in this field, vital for training a greater number of pilots.
The Ukrainian President also updated Macron on the outcomes of the third meeting with the Russian side held in Istanbul, where a new prisoner exchange was agreed upon. Kyiv now awaits a response to its proposal to hold a high-level meeting by the end of August, hoping for the presence of European representatives. The discussion also delved into Ukraine’s path toward European integration. "We agreed to work on finding solutions that allow the opening of the first negotiation cluster as soon as possible. It is important that Ukraine and Moldova continue in synchrony", the President added.
