Sac, the management company of Catania Airport, announces that, due to a fire that broke out in the immediate vicinity of the airport, all flight operations have been temporarily suspended, with the consequent closure of the airspace necessary to carry out the activities of the firefighting aircraft.

The Fire Brigade is currently working to contain and extinguish the flames, in close coordination with the competent authorities. The area affected by the fire does not directly involve the airport, but the intense development of smoke and the risk conditions make it necessary to interrupt its operations to ensure the utmost safety of passengers, operators, and airport infrastructure.

The company urges all passengers not to go to the airport and to contact their airline for updates on flights, rescheduling, or possible rebooking.
