France: air traffic controllers strike on July 3 and 4

Significant disruptions and delays are expected at all French airports, including overseas territories

The French DGAC (Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile) announces that two minor air traffic controllers' unions have called a national strike for July 3 and 4, 2025, both in metropolitan France and overseas territories. To limit traffic disruptions, the authority will implement minimum service arrangements in area control centers (ACC, or CRNA) and airport air navigation services, where regulations allow.

DGAC is also collaborating with the European network manager (Eurocontrol) to propose measures to airlines aimed at avoiding the national airspace. Additionally, it has requested carriers to reduce their flights on Thursday, July 3, by 50% at the airports of Nice, Bastia, and Calvi; by 30% at the airports of Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Ajaccio, and Figari; and by 25% at the airports of Paris-"Charles-De Gaulle", Paris-Orly, and Beauvais.

Despite these preventive measures, significant disruptions and delays are expected across all French airports.

Flight schedule changes for July 4 will be communicated in the coming hours.

The authority strongly advises those who can to postpone travel or to check with their airline about the status of their flight.
