Saab presents Nimbrix, its new anti-drone missile
Conceived as "fire-and-forget", it is designed to counter the growing threat of low-cost Uas

The public presentation will take place at the DSEI exhibition in London, scheduled from next September 9-12
Saab announced today the launch of Nimbrix, its first C-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aerial System) missile, entirely dedicated to defense against remotely piloted aerial systems. Developed to address the increasingly widespread threat of small drones on the battlefield, this new system promises an effective and low-cost solution.
Nimbrix is a "fire-and-forget" missile, designed to be quick to deploy. It is equipped with a target-seeking sensor, a "hard-kill" warhead and a small footprint. With a maximum range of 5 km, its warhead can effectively engage swarms of drones, including in airborne mode. "Nimbrix is our response to unmanned aerial threats that have intensified in recent years", said Stefan Öberg, head of Saab's Missile Systems business unit. "Its low cost is critical given the proliferation of drones on the battlefield".
The missile can be used as a ground-based defense system, both independently and integrated into more complex air defense systems. Its flexible mounting options allow it to be installed on various vehicles or in fixed configurations, maximizing the number of units deployed to ensure adequate coverage.
The term "fire-and-forget" refers to a type of missile that, once launched, no longer requires operator intervention to be guided to the target. The missile relies on an autonomous guidance system, such as an infrared sensor, radar or an inertial navigation system, to locate and strike the target independently.
The Swedish industry has already initiated discussions with potential customers and expects first deliveries starting in 2026. Nimbrix will be presented to the public during the Dsei trade show in London, scheduled from 9 to 12 September, at Saab's stand, N9-105.
