The measure concerns the east of the country. Drone flights prohibited.The official statement

Pansa, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, informs that at the request of the Armed Forces Operational Command, from 10:00pm UTC on 10 September 2025 until 11:59pm UTC on 9 December 2025, air traffic restrictions will be introduced in the eastern part of Poland in the form of restricted area EP R129. In that zone, from sunset to sunrise there is an absolute ban on flying, except for military aircraft.

The note emphasizes: "From sunrise (SR) to sunset (SS) a no-fly zone is planned in EP R129, except for:

- Crewed aircraft operating after filing a flight plan and equipped with an operational Mode A and C transponder or Mode S, maintaining continuous air–ground voice communications with the appropriate ATS unit and, when necessary, establishing two‑way communication on the appropriate communication channel of the appropriate ATS unit;

- Military aircraft;

- Flights conducted in Garda, Alpha Scramble modes;

- Flights conducted in Head, State, SAR, HOSP, MEDEVAC, FFR modes.

- A 24‑hour flight ban applies in EP R129 to civil unmanned aircraft".

After coordination with the Operations Service of the Air Operations Centre – Air Component Command (DSO COP-DKP) at telephone number 261 828 202, flights that do not meet the above criteria may be authorized. These are the cases:

- State aviation and air-ambulance flights;

- Flights carried out to provide assistance in case of threat to the life or health of humans or animals, in particular during natural disasters, catastrophes, environmental threats or emergency situations;

- Flights related to protection and control of critical infrastructure.

The statement concludes: "The zone will be active 24 hours a day. We remind that the entry of aircraft that do not meet the exclusion criteria into the active R zone constitutes a violation of the Air Navigation Code. The restriction is introduced to ensure the security of the State in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 18 January 2019 on flight restrictions for a period not exceeding 3 months".

We recall that the measure was adopted after the incursion into Polish airspace by Russian drones. See for details AVIONEWS 1 and 2.
