The European Union has created an Assistance Fund for Ukraine with a budget of 5 billion euros for 2024. This is a move that falls within the framework of initiatives envisaged by the European Peace Facility program Epf). The same sum is expected to be allocated annually until 2027. Brussels' objective is to support security in Kiev and consequently in the Old Continent.

It was reported by the "Ansa" Italian press agency, which cites as its source the document approved by the 27 EU member states: "Thanks to the creation of the Assistance Fund for Ukraine within the EPF, the EU will continue to support the provision of lethal and non-lethal military equipment and training. Comparable increases can be envisaged until 2027, based on Ukraine's needs and subject to the Council's political guidance".
