Primera Air failure (2): flights no longer repayable
Discontinued activities for the Scandinavian carrier
After the failure of the Primera Air carrier, Roberta Fichera, spokesperson for AirHelp Italia, explains what the passengers who fly with the airline should know:
"Primera Air has confirmed the end of all flight operations from midnight on October 1st. Passengers who have been involved in delays or cancellations will no longer be able to get a refund. Travellers who have been at the ground can get a return ticket if the flight was part of an insured travel package, or they can rely on other airlines that are offering special offers for all passengers involved. Passengers may be entitled to a refund if: the booking was made through a travel agency or a partner airline. In these cases, the flight can be insured and covered depending on the travel insurances stipulated during the booking. The reservation was made through Primera Air, choosing as a payment option the mode with a credit card. Payment can be blocked before being credited to the company; to use this method of reimbursement it is necessary to send a document to the reference bank that certifies that the payment was not successful. Unfortunately, passengers who have been delayed or cancelled with Primera Air will no longer be entitled to compensation, unless their flight has been carried out by another company".
Passengers who have been involved in delays or cancellations can check the suitability for compensation directly at the airport and file a complaint in a few minutes through the free AirHelp app, available for iOS and Android.
