China: unstoppable growth of planes, helicopters and drones
Thousands of facilities to meet demand
Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) reported that China's demand for short-haul, tourist and medical flights has increased.
Beijing currently has 239 airports for civil aviation, 460 carriers and 2562 aircraft. The director of the CAAC airport section Liu Chunchen said that the expansion of demand has stimulated the growth of aviation in China. In 2018 over 100 local companies carried nearly 180,000 passengers. Among the most active sectors, the drone industry allowed a jump to the increase in the aeronautical business: in 2018, China had 300,000 remotely piloted aircraft built by more than 1200 factories.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China is an authority of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China, monitors general aviation and investigates aircraft accidents and incidents. It is based in the Dongcheng district of Beijing.
