USA-EU tariff agreement formally implemented

The final program was published today: aircraft and their components are exempt - ATTACHMENT

The trade agreement between the United States and the European Union on tariffs wanted by American president Donald Trump has been formally implemented; it is retroactive to August 1st and confirms the agreement of two months ago (see  AVIONEWS). The official document was published today in the "Federal Register", the official journal of the Us government, and reports the tariff schedule modified by the Commerce Department and the US Trade Representative's office in implementation of the agreement with the EU.

The document confirms the reduction of tariffs on automobiles and spare parts from 25% to 15% and the exemption of all aircraft and their components. Generic pharmaceuticals, their ingredients and chemical precursors, graphite, nickel, rare earths, magnesium and other metals, natural resources such as cork, and electronic and mechanical components will also be exempt from duties. As explained by the Us administration, the list of products may be further modified.

The official document (73 pages) attached to this AVIONEWS.
