From Genoa Airport new flight connection to Krakow

Three-weekly route operated by Wizz Air

The launch of the new Genoa-Krakow connection operated by Wizz Air, started yesterday, June 17, 2025, represents an important step in the expansion of international connections in Liguria: with this new route, four international routes are now available from the region (the airline already connects Genoa to Tirana, Budapest and Warsaw). The three weekly flights from the Ligurian capital to the former Polish capital are part of Wizz Air's already extensive summer 2025 offer, which will offer over 200 routes to 80 destinations in 30 countries, making more than 13 million seats available at low-cost fares.

Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager of Wizz Air, commented: “We recently celebrated the milestone of 100 million passengers transported in Italy (see AVIONEWS), currently the largest market in our network in terms of capacity: the launch of new routes like this confirms our desire to continue to grow, improve and offer more and more travel opportunities to our passengers”. With this new route, the airline consolidates its role as a key carrier in connections between Italy and Eastern Europe, responding to the growing demand for mobility towards the main destinations in the Central-Eastern region.

A little over a month after the launch of the Genoa-Warsaw flight, the addition of a destination like Krakow, which like the connection with Warsaw that started last May will also remain in the winter season, will serve to deseasonalise tourist flows in the area, an important objective to which our airport can also contribute, said Francesco D'Amico, general manager of Genoa airport. "We hope that this flight will also be as successful as the one to the Polish capital: in the first 18 flights operated from 1 May to today, the load rate has been higher than expected", concluded the general manager.

With the inauguration of the direct connection to Krakow, Genoa airport confirms its strategic role in the expansion of the international network towards Eastern Europe and in the valorization of the Ligurian territory.
