Dassault Systèmes announced today that Avio, the leading Italian company in the field of space launchers and propulsion systems, is implementing the 3DExperience platform. This initiative aims to digitalize the management of all AVIO’s programs, reinforcing the company’s commitment to more efficient and sustainable design and production processes.

The adoption of the platform will enable Avio to implement automated, data-driven, and intelligent engineering and production processes. This is intended to streamline and accelerate the development of advanced space solutions, which are critical for participation in major European space programs. The primary objective is to achieve high levels of efficiency, standardization, quality, and compliance—essential factors for the design and construction of launchers, propulsion systems, and payload adapters.

Avio will specifically leverage four industrial solutions from Dassault Systèmes: "Winning Concept", "Co-Design to Target", "Ready for Rate", and "Build to Operate". These solutions, integrated within the 3DExperience platform, are designed to enhance collaboration between internal teams, suppliers, and external partners, facilitating real-time data usage within a shared virtual environment. The company expects these new solutions to drive productivity increases by optimizing development timelines and reducing operational costs. Furthermore, an improvement in quality is anticipated through greater precision in design and production processes. Innovation should accelerate, enabling a faster introduction of new technologies and products, while collaboration will be strengthened through the creation of an integrated virtual ecosystem.
