Return to Earth for Crew-10: NASA live coverage scheduled for undocking and splashdown
Historic milestone for the Commercial Crew program: splashdown will take place off the coast of California

NASA (the American space agency) and SpaceX are preparing to broadcast live the return to Earth of the Crew-10 mission, which will mark the first splashdown of a Commercial Crew program crew off the coast of California. The undocking from the International Space Station is scheduled for today, Friday, August 8, no earlier than 18:05 (00:05 on Saturday, August 9, Italy time), with the final splashdown in the Pacific Ocean planned for 11:33 local time on Saturday, August 9, weather permitting.
The crew, composed of NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos (Russian space agency) cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, has spent five months in orbit conducting scientific experiments. Upon their return, they will bring back crucial data and research.
NASA’s live coverage, available on several platforms including NASA+ and Amazon Prime, will follow all phases of the re-entry. Coverage will begin on Friday, August 8 at 15:45 EDT with the closing of the hatch, followed by the undocking broadcast at 17:45 EDT. On Saturday, August 9, the live stream will resume at 10:15 EDT with the deorbit burn and splashdown transmission, concluding with a press conference at 13:00 EDT featuring key representatives from NASA, SpaceX, and JAXA to discuss the mission’s results.
