The international trade fair GSE Expo Europe (see AVIONEWS) has concluded in Lisbon (held at FIL from 15 to 17 September 2026), and the participation of Aviogei confirmed the Italian company's position as a leading player in innovation in ground-support equipment.

The results and key themes emerging at the close of the event can be grouped along three main lines:

Green transition and electrification: Aviogei stepped up the presentation of its 100% electric and hybrid-powered GSE range, designed to eliminate emissions on the airport apron, reduce noise pollution and support European airports' sustainability objectives (Road to Net-Zero).

Advanced safety and digitalisation: Considerable attention was given to driver-assistance systems and anti-collision sensors compliant with IATA standards (AHM 913), enabling safe, millimetre-precise positioning alongside the fuselage, together with connected solutions for fleet telemetry, inclusiveness and operational accessibility. 

Dual civil and defence applications: The event reinforced interest from both civil airport operators and the military/institutional sector, where Aviogei solutions continue to meet high-intensity logistics requirements and the reliability standards demanded in civil operations.

The interest shown by the various stakeholders—airport handlers, operational delegations and industry authorities—provided tangible recognition of:

Confidence in the field: The conclusion of immediate supply agreements and the scheduling of operational trials for the latest-generation electric machines.

Expansion of the international network: An opening towards new foreign markets, alongside the consolidation of long-standing relationships with Italy's leading airports.

Recognition of engineering quality: The convergence of demand for sustainability and “Made in Italy” mechanical reliability, making the company's solutions a long-term investment for airport operators renewing their fleets. These were the remarks of Chairman Franco Cesarini: “We are very pleased with the success of the visits to our stand by operators, with the orders received during the exhibition, and we now await the confirmation of the announced orders".
