EUROPEAN COMPANIES TO BUILD NEW FIGHTER PLANE

HAMBURG, Financial Times Deutschland reported that European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), Dassault Industries, Alenia SpA, Saab AB and BAe Systems PLC and Eads would jointly develop a fighter plane that would fly with or without pilot. The newspaper cited an Eads spokesman. The aircraft would replace Eurofighter Gripen and Rafale and would be operational within 15 years.
