US helicopter shot down in Iraq

Falluja, Iraq - 16 killed, 20 injured

A US helicopter was shot down yesterday by a missile killing 16 American soldiers and injuring 20. The aircraft, a twin-engine CH-47 "Chinook", was attacked south of Falluja. The soldiers were on their way for two weeks of vacation. On the same day another American soldier was killed in a vehicle on a road to Baghdad by a makeshift bomb and two US civilian contractors were killed by a roadside bomb...
