F/A-18E: even as a tanker by 2006

Washington, USA - General Dynamics to care the development of the new auxiliary tanks

The F/A-18E Super Hornet will be provided with the capability of operating as flying tankers through the studying of proper external auxiliary tanks. General Dynamics will care for it and the F/A-18 will be able to fly with 5 sub-wing and ventral tanks. This measure will increase the operative capabilities of these US Navy airplanes by 2006.
