Italy re-elected to the ICAO Council in the first category (2): the Mit's note
For the first time in decades delegation led by a Government's representative

Italy has been re-elected to the ICAO Council's first category with 163 votes out of 184 countries, the top Nation in Europe and fourth one in the world. A result that confirms the Italian country's central role in the international governance of civil aviation.
For the first time in decades, the Italian delegation to the General Assembly in Montreal was led by a Government representative: Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Edoardo Rixi (see for details AVIONEWS). His presence at the plenary sessions and bilateral meetings strengthened relations with strategic partners.
With this election, Italy consolidates its role as a reference point in the sector and relaunches the challenge toward the new frontiers of global mobility. The MIT confirms full synergy with Enac and the Government's commitment to support the sustainable, safe and innovative development of air transport.
