British fighter escorts Pakistani passenger aircraft

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that an RAF Typhoon fighter was scrambled to escort a Pakistan Airlines passenger aircraft. The airplane, Flight PK 709, took off from Lahore at 9:35, and was scheduled to land at Manchester at 2:00 pm, but it has been diverted to London-Stansted Airport.
