Tensions skyrocketing between China and Taiwan

Published photos of a Chinese nuclear submarine that emerged in the waters of the Strait

The alarm regarding a Chinese military submarine that emerged in the Taiwan Sea has been confirmed, or rather not denied. This is what is reported in the comment made today by the Taipei Ministry of Defense regarding the photos, which recently appeared online, which portray a Beijing nuclear submarine surfacing in the body of water where some Taiwanese fishing boats were located.

"We have a detailed understanding of the situation" of which the intelligence community has a "detailed understanding", said Taiwan's defense minister, Wellington Koo. In recent days the Taipei media have published images of what appears to be a Chinese "Jin" class missile submarine, equipped with a nuclear warhead. The photos were taken from a Taiwanese fishing vessel that was about 200 km off the western coast of Taiwan.
