Russia extends air base lease in Kyrgyzstan
Kant, Kyrgyzstan - For 49 years with automatic renewal after every 25
The Russian government approved an agreement for a 49-year lease of Kant air base, Kyrgyzstan, with automatic renewal every 25 years. This replaces the previous contract that included the lease for a period of 15 years and automatic renewal every 5 years. The base currently hosts 400 soldiers and 20 among transport aircraft, fighters, helicopters and L-39 trainers. Russia pays about $4.5 million...
