Surabaya, Indonesia - Radars lost track of the plane around 40 minutes after takeoff from an Indonesian city

An Airbus A-320 aircraft of the Malaysian low-cost airline AirAsia disappeared while flying over the ocean between Borneo and Sumatra early in the morning on December 28. There were 162 people on board the flight QZ8501: 155 passengers -among which 16 children and an infant- and 7 crew members.
