A correspondent from Moscow of AVIONEWS confirms the news of the last hour about the accident verified a few hours ago at Moscow-Sheremetyevo airport, when an Aeroflot Superjet 100 aircraft, flight SU1492, once landed after the second attempt to land in an emergency, has become prey to the flames that developed in its rear part while, as evidenced by the video by "Mosca24", it was still in the landing phase on the asphalt strip. A total of 78 people aboard. The Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered a State commission in charge of the investigations, and commissioned the Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova to provide all the necessary assistance to the wounded.

On board the aircraft "A total of 78 people were present -of which 5 crewmembers, only 37 of whom survived; currently 28 passengers are in the airport terminal, investigators and psychologists are assisting them, five people have been taken to medical facilities", a statement from the authorities reported it. The victims are 40 passengers and one crewmember.

The aircraft was making the Moscow-Murmansk route. Some sources report that the request to land in emergency after having reversed the route to the departure airport was made due to a fire on board, some say caused by an electrical fault, some by lightning. The first attempt to land has failed due to bad weather. A criminal procedure was also opened on the event. The airport operates in limited mode with only one runway, while changes are made to Aeroflot's flight schedule.
