Maximum take-off weight of more than 20 times higher than the Be-200, it will transport goods and passengers
The announcement comes from a spokesman for UAC (United Aircraft Corporation), on the occasion of the 85th birthday of Taganrog's Central Design Bureau of Marine Aircraft Engineering (a scientific and technical aviation complex named after Georgy Mikhailovich Beriev, now Beriev Design Bureau, specializing in the development of amphibious aircraft): at the center a new amphibious plane is currently under development that will have a maximum take-off weight of over a thousand tons, or more than 20 times higher than that of the well-known firefighting amphibious Beriev B2-200.
"This aircraft will be able to carry passengers and goods over long distances, at altitudes and speeds allowed for conventional aircraft, and capable of using terrestrial airport infrastructures, but also existing marinas and/or ports".
