Serbia: 4 helicopters at the military parade
75 years since the Nazi-Fascist liberation
Serbia will present four helicopters at tomorrow's military parade in Belgrade during the celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of liberation from Nazi-fascism. Three rotary-wing machines came from Russia and one from the European Union (EU).
President Aleksandar Vucic told a private television station: "Today we have availability, we can buy and defend our freedom, our skies and our country, showing that Serbia can go on".
In fact, thanks to economic growth, Belgrade has increased defense spending, with the purchase of tanks and armored vehicles from Russia; which has donated some used Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 aircraft to Serbia. Present at tomorrow's event also Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, visiting the Serbian capital, freed thanks also to the ex-Soviet "Red Army" militias.
