India, Patna airport will handle 8 million passengers every year

Local aviation minister spoke about it on Twitter

Some time ago works began to expand the terminal at Jay Prakash Narayan airport in Patna, India. Asian Nation intends to make the airport's annual capacity even more important, reaching up to 8 million passengers by March 2023. Indian Minister of Civil Aviation, Hardeep Singh Puri, spoke about it today, Thursday 24 September 2020; according to him, everything is ready for updating and expansion of the infrastructure, with a very specific goal, that of doubling the current passenger traffic.

Currently, in fact, Patna airport manages about 4.5 million people every year, consequently it's fundamental a terminal capable of meeting new needs. The minister made these numbers known through his twitter account and by adding other interesting details; for example, the economic investment of 12 billion rupees (about EUR 140 million), the amount necessary to equip the Asian airport with cutting-edge technologies and facilities. It is no coincidence that Patna is one of the fastest growing structures in all of India, a reference point for the revival of the entire national economy.
