China, new expansion for Guangzhou-Baiyun airport
It will encourage the development of Greater Bay Area
An important airport expansion: Chinese international airport of Guangzhou-Baiyun (Baiyunport) will become even bigger in the future thanks to the expansion project that the media of the ex-celestial empire have made known in recent hours. The Asian airport is located in the Huadu district, more precisely in the southern part of China, and the goal to be achieved is soon stated (read also the article published by AVIONEWS). The focus is decisively on the development of the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao; between Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong, the largest area for technological and digital development will be born, a sort of Chinese Silicon Valley that the country intends to promote to surpass the United States in this field.
It is no coincidence that reference is made to air transport, given that the strengthening of the sector also passes through airport engineering, traffic control and the supply of fuel for aircraft. Two other runways will be needed (3400 and 3600 meters in length specifically), as well as a terminal to be added to the two existing ones. Among other numbers of the project that are worth mentioning, there are the nearly 200 hangars. In 2021 it will already be possible to admire the new “face” of this renewed airport.
