Passengers without mask, Delta updates "black list"

460 people are no longer accepted by airline

Mask is now part (and will continue to do so for a long time) of our lives. Unfortunately, many people still cannot even remotely understand its importance, as evidenced by the drastic decision adopted from American carrier Delta Air Lines (read also the article published by AVIONEWS). In fact it added the names of 460 passengers to the list of those who are not welcome on board its aircraft. The reason? All people on the "black list" refused to wear the mask during the flight, as emerged from a memo sent by the company's CEO, Ed Bastian, to employees. Bastian particularly stressed the increase in coronavirus infections throughout the United States, hoping for more appropriate behaviors from every person involved in air transport.

Delta's CEO was very clear in his letter: "Wearing the mask is one of the simplest and most effective actions to avoid the transmission of the virus, but 460 people refused to do so and will no longer fly with us". This news spread at the same time that this carrier's air link between Detroit and Las Vegas was being delayed for 90 minutes due to a passenger's reticence; as if that weren't enough, on October 19 a Delta flight attendant was hit in the face by another passenger for the same reason.
