Investigation on Italian FS insurance policies, CEO Battisti against rumours
Prosecutor is investigating on old services
CEO of Italian Ferrovie dello Stato Group, Gianfranco Battisti, gave a mandate to his lawyers to proceed in court to protect his reputation regarding press rumors concerning his role in the investigation of Rome prosecutor's office on tenders and insurance policies of the group directed by him and ensured the maximum collaboration of Fs with the judicial authorities. Battisti refers to the investigation that has to do with tenders for the insurance services of Ferrovie dello Stato of 2009, 2010 and 2013.
Rumors about the CEO refer instead to two insurance compensation of 1.6 million euros six years ago, when Battisti himself held an important managerial role in Trenitalia; at the time he was director of the national and international passengers and high speed division. According to the reconstructions that are read in recent days, the money paid by Generali insurance would have been compensation for the consequences of a bad fall in the bathroom of Battisti's house in Fiuggi. A further study by the investigators is that on the compensation received by some managers of FS. However, it must be said that the investigation is still in an embryonic stage and the regularity of tenders and compensation is not even excluded.
