British Airways tests "virtual queue" right at home

British air carrier British Airways has "beaten" the other airlines in the world over time with regard to a particular check-in system. In fact, based on what has been learned in the last few hours, a virtual system is being tested to facilitate passengers in this difficult historical period from a health point of view, with the possibility of "queuing" while they are still in their home. . In a nutshell, you book in advance what time you will arrive at the airport of interest and physical contacts will therefore be reduced to a minimum, avoiding crossing other people. This is a “covid-safe” solution developed by a company specialized in hi-tech, namely Qmatic. Each British Airways customer will be able to select it if they wish, and the first tests will take a total of three months.

To be even more specific, the British airline will make this possible for a number of selected flight connections departing from London Heathrow's terminal number 5. The operation of the system is easy to say: passengers will receive an e-mail message before leaving and will be asked to book the actual check-in time. The next step is a notification, and the person just needs to go to the dedicated desk. The technologies developed by Qmatic are currently heavily exploited in various areas of the public sector, in particular retail sales and healthcare.
