ITA Airways: the AZ608 Fiumicino-"Jfk" flight departed
First intercontinental aircraft link by the new flag carrier
ITA Airways' first intercontinental flight took off from Rome-Fiumicino to New York- "Jfk" and will land in the US after 9 hours at 15pm local time.
The flight was carried out by a 250-seat A-330 airplane, configured in three classes of service, Business, Premium Economy and Economy, and piloted by Commander Luca Genzini.
The new Rome-Fiumicino/New York-"Jfk" connection will be operated with 6 flights per week (round trip), which will reach 10 at the beginning of December 2021 and up to 14 weekly during the Christmas holidays, from 20 December 2021 to January 9, 2022. The flight will take off from Rome every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 10 am, to depart from New York every Monday, Friday and Sunday at 4:55 pm.
Starting from March 2022, ITA Airways flights will be operational from Rome-Fiumicino to Miami and Boston, and from Milan-Malpensa to New York-"Jfk". The start of the Rome-Fiumicino/Los Angeles route is expected in the Summer of 2022.
