EU transport: amendments to the 2023 budget voted

Vuolo (FI): "Defense of peripheral areas as a priority to guarantee equal opportunities"

In the plenary meeting of the transport commission of the European Union today some amendments to the general budget 2023 were voted: these are proposals to have a fair policy in the transport sector, in particular in the peripheral areas. During the session, the European People's Party (EPP) reached a compromise with the other groups.

Today we need "a fair transport policy without differences between the various European areas: an objective that I will continue to pursue. During this plenary session in the transport committee, my amendments presented to the general EU budget for the year 2023 were voted", said the member of the transport committee of the European parliament, MEP Lucia Vuolo (FI). 

"The defense of the peripheral areas -He adds- remains a priority to guarantee equal opportunities and opportunities to the communities. I have decided to pursue the same line in the next files regarding the review of the Ten-T networks. This is a strategically opportunity that we will have again in several years and for which, as always, I am at the disposal of the Italian system to listen and bring the citizens demands here in Europe". 

I "had aimed at an increasingly cohesive and inclusive European transport policy -concludes Vuolo- overcoming the differences between the various European areas. accessibility and connection of cities with surrounding areas, especially in the most disadvantaged regions of the EU with a per capita GDP below 75% of the EU average".
