ITA Airways for the first time at "ITB" Berlin (March 7-9)

The flagship carrier features a branded stand in the Italian Pavilion

ITA Airways will participate in the 2023 edition of "ITB", the world's leading international travel trade show, which will take place in Berlin from 7 to 9 March. The Italian flagship carrier will be attending it with a branded stand in the pavilion dedicated to Italy located in Hall 1.2. (Stand 107) inside the ENIT (Italian Tourism board) area, where it will have the opportunity to meet the key players of the international tourism industry, travel agents, tour operators, trade partners, and tourist offices.

At the Berlin show, the carrier will present to the public its new summer schedule, which includes a total of 68 destinations, of which 22 domestic, 36 international and 10 intercontinental, and is enhanced by a strong investment in long-haul routes thanks to the fleet expansion plan, which features the face in of 33 new aircraft by the end of this year, including 25 aircraft for the short and medium haul and 8 for the long haul. 

Long haul continues to be the focus of its investments in the upcoming Summer season with the opening of new routes from its hub in Rome-Fiumicino to Washington starting 2nd of June and to San Francisco from 1st of July. In addition to the new flights to North America, the Company will also offer a new direct route from Rome-Fiumicino to Rio de Janeiro which will be available in the Winter season and will complete with the flights to Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo the offer in the South American market. These new destinations join those already operated in the Asia-Pacific area with Tokyo-Haneda, New Delhi and Malé (Maldives) and the network of destinations in the United States with New York, Boston, Miami and Los Angeles.

In the German market, ITA Airways will be offering 114 weekly flights between Germany and Italy in the upcoming Summer season, with direct connections from Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg airports to the hubs of Rome-Fiumicino or Milan-Linate. To complete the offer for the German customers, connections are available to the entire network in Italy and the rest of the world, including the South American destinations in Brazil and Argentina. In Summer, the Company will also offer seasonal connections to the Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca) and other Mediterranean destinations.

In terms of performance, the Italian carrier achieved in 2022, its first full year of operations, significant results: more than 10 million passengers were carried, and the airline consistently earned top rankings globally, for both Regularity and Punctuality, recording 99% of its entire operation completed in regularity and more than 82% of its flights landing on time.
