A new air carrier is born: Neom

Saudi company is expected to start operations in 2024

Announced the birth of a new air carrier: it is called Neom Airlines and is based in Saudi Arabia. According to the company's management, the passenger transport service should begin at the end of the fourth quarter of 2024. Its creation aims to better serve the homonymous futuristic city that is rising in the north-western region of the country.

"Our goal is to have a holistic and interconnected approach. With our airline we will foster the economic development of the territory. Organically, due to the strategic geographical position and the level of entrepreneurial activity, over time we plan to have a general aviation terminal that connects the Middle East, Europe, America and Asia", said Chief Executive Officer Klaus Goersch (ex-British Airways and Air Canada).

The company will focus on offering tourist and business travel, as well as transporting the resident population. It will initially operate domestic flights, while the only international route planned at the moment is between London and Dubai. No other details regarding the composition of the fleet have been disclosed.
