The "Tower of London" operation is underway, that is the security plan developed by the Metropolitan Police of London and the British secret services MI5 (Military Intelligence, Section 5) in view of the ceremony that next Saturday 6 May will lead to the official coronation of Charles III as the new king. Westminster Abbey is already closed to the public for the preparations for the event.

For 6 May, the British Civil Aviation Authority (Caa) created a no-fly zone over the city, especially in the historic centre, and the use of drones and the overflight of airliners and private flights of any kind will therefore be prohibited. Barriers will also be erected to prevent vehicles from entering crowds and to minimize the threat of terrorist attacks and public disturbances.

The operation will involve thousands of police officers stationed on the streets of London who will be supported by snipers, the army and special teams. Dozens of undercover officers will be in the crowd as King and Queen Camilla travel from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey.
