Aircraft and transport. Strike in Italy: what happens tomorrow

List of disruptions caused by the national mobilization on May, Friday 19

National airstrike of up to 24 hours in Italy tomorrow, May, Friday 19. The mobilization was called by the unions Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl air transport. The reason for the protest is linked to the non-renewal of the national collective agreement for the aviation sector, which has been expected for six years. Many inconveniences are expected, including flight delays and cancellations, caused by the abstention from work by airport and airline staff.

The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (Enac) communicated the list of protests: the workers of the handling companies (from 00:01 to 11:59pm), the on-board personnel of the Air Dolomiti company (24 hours), that of the low-cost airline Volotea will go on strike (from 1:00pm to 5:00pm), the ground staff of the US carrier American Airlines (12:00-4:00pm) and Emirates (also from 12:00 to 4:00pm); the workers in the aviation, airport and related industries (from 00:01 to 11:59pm).

The national carrier ITA Airways announced the cancellation of 111 domestic flights, but ensures 68% of scheduled flights. Enac published the list of guaranteed air connections (State, military, emergency, health, humanitarian, rescue flights). As always, the service will be ensured in the assured time periods: 7:00am-10:00am and 6:00pm-9:00pm.
