The operator of the British London-Heathrow airport has communicated that the volume of passenger traffic in the month of May has returned to a level almost corresponding to what was recorded in the period preceding the pandemic. This is a performance driven by the high demand for transatlantic air links. 

"One in four passengers who flew between the US and Europe in May passed through London-Heathrow thanks to the intense frequency of our destinations". The airport operates 248 daily flights to and from the airport, connecting Britain to 31 US destinations, building trade links with the UK's most important export market. An unrivaled choice of destinations such as New York making routes vital trade with the United States", said Chief Executive John Holland-Kaye. 

There were 6.72 million passengers handled in May (6.76 million in May 2019), for the third month over 6 million. The London-Heathrow management company points out that the airport has more flights to the New York market than any other European airport, with a total of 30 daily departures for "John F. Kennedy" and Newark-Liberty airports.
