ITA-Lufthansa: the possible entry of Msc

Aponte: "Should there be a need on the part of the Government, we will respond favourably"

The news that the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, is working to encourage a return of the Italian-Swiss group Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), specialized in the transport and logistics sector, in the negotiations with the German Lufthansa for the privatization of the carrier ITA Airways flag plane, opens up new scenarios. On the subject, the owner of Msc, Gianluigi Aponte, has left the door, if not open, at least ajar.

On the airline "we have moved on, I know that the negotiations with Lufthansa are very advanced, therefore we respect them. If then there should be a need on the part of the Meloni Government we certainly, as Italians, as good citizens, will respond always favorably", said Gianluigi Aponte.

At the moment, MSC's priorities are certainly different: "We strongly believe in the train, not only for the goods but also for the passengers and I think that will be the future: therefore we will certainly go ahead with this participation, which I think we will be able to close from here at the end of the year", underlined the president of the company, Diego Aponte, in an interview with the Italian economic newspaper "Milano-Finanza".
