France: air strike cancelled on Friday 15th

Union announces agreement with DGAC on salaries for traffic controllers in the skies

Air traffic controllers' strike averted in France. The workers' mobilization was initially scheduled for tomorrow, Friday 15 September. In recent hours, the Syndicat Majoritaire des Contrôleurs Aériens (Sncta) announced that it reached a salary agreement with the Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile (DGAC), the French civil aviation authority.

The Sncta union had asked for an increase in wages to compensate for inflation, that is the increase in the cost of living resulting from the increase in the prices of basic necessities. The strike of French traffic controllers would have caused disruption throughout Europe. In fact, the national airspace is functional for air connections to and from Germany, Spain and other neighboring countries.
