"DSEI 2023": trilateral on GCAP aircraft

Meeting between defense ministers of Italy, the UK and Japan

A trilateral meeting between Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan was held in London in the last few hours to take stock of the development program of the VI generation GCAP (Global Combat Air Program) military aircraft. Aim of the meeting: to define the transition to the next phase of the project and carry out the research activity. The international collaboration between the three countries has the aim of creating a new generation aviation system by 2035.

"The GCAP is an industrial and technological program but above all a political choice for the security of the area from the Atlantic to the Indo-Pacific", said the Italian Defense Minister, Guido Crosetto, during the meeting with his British counterpart, James Roger Cartlidge, and with the Japanese Deputy Defense Minister, Kiyoshi Serizawa
