Ukraine: Kiev-Paris flight operated

Zelensky: "Opening of the airport will be a great victory for our defense of the skies"

A Boeing 777/300 plane took off in recent days from Kiev-Boryspil international airport and reached France. According to some experts, the flight was covered by electronic jamming systems of Russian radars. This is a truly important fact, so much so that the Government welcomed it as a signal of a possible resumption of air connections in the country, interrupted since 24 February 2022. It is one of the first flights since the beginning of the war.

"Boryspil airport is like the Black Sea (where the Ukrainians managed to reactivate naval traffic from Odessa by repelling the enemy fleet, En), the opening of the airport will be a great victory for our air defense", it was the comment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The flight was operated by the air carrier Skyline Express, which has been operating charter flights between European cities since May 2023. It is not the first time that an aircraft has taken off from Kiev: it happened a year ago, when two Turkish Airbus A400 military transport aircraft returned to their homeland after negotiating a "safe corridor" with Moscow. Then in April 2023 a Boeing 737 of the SkyUp company took off from Boryspil towards Romania. However, military experts say that the Kremlin is increasing its control of Ukrainian airspace.
