Breaking news. The 5th special Italy-Egypt Bilateral Cooperation Meeting to strengthen relations between the two countries is currently underway in Cairo, Egypt. The face-to-face meeting between the delegations of the two states is held at the Armament Authority located in the Egyptian capital. Present were Luciano Portolano, Secretary General of Defense and Director of Armaments of Italy, and his Egyptian counterpart, General Kamal Wafaa Radwan.

The General Secretariat of Defense and Italian Armaments Directorate is the highest technical-administrative body of the Italian Defense. As with all member countries of the Atlantic Alliance, the director is responsible for the system of acquisition of military means and for the implementation of armaments policy and, therefore, for the direction of the national defense industry.
