Munich Airport bets on Asia

About 107 weekly flights scheduled for Summer 2024

Munich Airport focuses on Asia. This is what emerges from the analysis of the flight programs of the airlines based in the German airport scheduled for the Summer 2024 season. It's a decision that seeks to respond to the growing demand for air connections between Europe and the East, in particularly the eastern and southern parts.

In detail, starting from March 31, 2024, nine airlines have scheduled 107 weekly flights to 14 destinations located in 10 Asian countries. This is a historic record, which breaks the previous record achieved in 2019, the year before the pandemic, when during the summer schedule 101 flights were scheduled every seven days between the European and Asian continents.

The German flag carrier Lufthansa will enhance the service: from April 1st 2024 it will put into flight, limited to the summer season, an A-380 aircraft that will operate the Munich-New Delhi route; will double its flights to and from Bangalore, also in India; will increase connections with Beijing (from three weekly to one daily) and with the Japanese airport of Osaka (five weekly in April, daily flights from May); Monaco-Hong Kong also reinstated.
