Axiom 3 mission returns today

Confirmation of landing time will depend on weather conditions

The Crew Dragon capsule returns to Earth today, Wednesday 7 February at 3:05pm Italian time, with the crew of Axiom Space's private Ax-3 space mission on board. Among them the Italian colonel Walter Villadei. Confirmation of the landing time will depend on weather conditions off the coast of Florida, where the shuttle landed, according to what the Space X agency communicates on its website.

Axiom 3 is the first entirely European space mission. The release of the Crew Dragon from the International Space Station took place in the last few hours. The mission began on January 18th. The crew consists of Air Force Colonel Walter Villadei, astronauts Marcus Wandt, Michael López-Alegría and Alper Gezeravic.

Due to adverse weather conditions it was already postponed the release of the capsule from the International Space Station by one day, initially scheduled for yesterday, February 6, 2024. Barring complications, today the four astronauts will return to our planet, after spending 15 days in the cosmos.
