Piaggio Aerospace (2): Minister Urso meets workers

Next Saturday at the Villanova d'Albenga plant

The Minister of Business and Made in Italy (Mimit), Adolfo Urso, announced that on Saturday 9 March at 1pm he will visit the Piaggio Aerospace factory and speak with the workers of the Ligurian factory in Villanova d'Albenga, in the province of Savona. The announcement was made yesterday during question time in the Chamber of Deputies, in response to a question from parliamentarian Luca Pastorino (Left party).

In detail, the head of the ministry will meet the unions Fim, Fiom, Uilm, as well as the president of the Liguria Region, Giovanni Toti, and the mayor of Villanova d'Albenga, Pietro Balestra, at the airport of the Ligurian town, which is located right next to the Piaggio Aerospace headquarters. The aim is to update the territory regarding the five purchase offers of the company currently being evaluated, which could put an end to the extraordinary administration.

Started in 2018, the extraordinary administration of Piaggio Aerospace, which today is in the hands of the commissioners Carmelo Cosentino, Vincenzo Nicastro and Davide Rossetti, would have expired at the end of May 2024, but will be extended for another 12 months. Meanwhile, the third tender for the sale is drawing to a close with no results, but this will allow the evaluation of the five new offers out of the 18 received to continue in the best possible way.
