FedEx reduces order of Boeing planes

They will be delivered to the cargo company by the end of May 2026

The cargo air carrier FedEx has announced that it will reduce the number of B-767/300F aircraft with a purchase option from 50 to 43. This is what emerges from the company's latest quarterly statistical report. This redefinition concerns an order signed in 2023. It is a move with which the company aims to balance future plane orders with the aim of optimizing its route network.

In detail, the cargo company plans to withdraw three B-767/300Fs out of the 15 expected to be delivered by the end of May 2024; to these are added another 10 which will be canceled by 31 May 2025; finally two other aircraft will be canceled by May 31, 2026.

Ultimately, the 43 new aircraft will increase the number of B-767 planes in the FedEx fleet to 152 units (with another 21 on order). Despite this cut on the order, the cargo air carrier thus confirms itself as the largest B-767/300F operator. All aircraft will be delivered to the cargo company by the end of May 2026.
