AviLease places direct order for 30 B-737/8 aircraft
Saudi leasing's order is among Trump's deals cashed in today in Riyadh

AviLease, the global aircraft leasing company based in Saudi Arabia, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Boeing for an order of 30 B-737/8 airplanes. This strategic investment, which marks AviLease's first direct OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) order, will enable the latter to provide its global customer base with new technologies and fuel-efficient fleet solutions, while promoting the growth of the Saudi aviation ecosystem. Deliveries are scheduled until 2032. The agreement had already been anticipated a few hours ago in a note with which the White House announced the Saudi investment program of 600 billion dollars, announced today just as President Donald Trump landed in Riyadh, the first stop of the tour of scheduled visits to the Middle East (see AVIONEWS and related link).
“This strategic order reflects our long-term ambition to become a top 10 global leader in aircraft leasing, while strengthening our position as a national leader. This is in line with the PIF’s (Public Investment Fund) mandate to contribute to the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the National Aviation Strategy", commented AviLease Chairman Fahad AlSaif.
A hot comment also came from CEO Edward O'Byrne: "Strengthened by the investment grade ratings recently achieved, this transaction demonstrates our ability to operate across all market channels, including sale and lease-back, secondary trading, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and now direct OEM purchases. These new aircraft will accelerate our growth and allow us to offer next-generation, fuel-efficient fleet solutions".
