Enac strengthens the Italian role in the strategic aviation tables at ICAO Eur/Nat DGCA 2025

Italy candidate for the 2026 edition of the Meeting, strengthening leadership and global collaborations

The president of Enac (Italian Civil Aviation Authority), Pierluigi Di Palma, together with the Director General Alexander d’Orsogna and the Deputy Director General Fabio Nicolai, actively participated in the proceedings initiated by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Secretary General, Juan Carlos Salazar, the ICAO Council President, Salvatore Sciacchitano, and the EUR/NAT Regional Director, Nicolas Rallo. The Italian presence once again underscored the crucial role of the country at the main international tables dedicated to the development of air transport. As highlighted by President Di Palma, Enac (Italian Civil Aviation Authority) confirms itself as a promoter of a strategic vision aimed at increasingly safe, resilient, and environmentally sustainable air mobility.

On the occasion of his first international appointment as DG, d’Orsogna officially presented Italy’s candidacy to host the ICAO EUR/NAT DGCA Meeting 2026. For the first time, this important gathering will be held outside of Paris and will be organized in Apulia, thanks to the support of Aeroporti di Puglia SpA.

The unanimous recognition of Italy’s candidacy confirms the authority and prestige of Enac in the international civil aviation landscape. The agenda of the EUR/NAT DGCA 2025 meeting addressed significant topics such as enhancing the culture of continuous learning within aviation, strategic workforce planning, promoting gender equality and strengthening the role of women in the sector, as well as optimizing crisis management and response capabilities.

The day’s activities concluded with a reception hosted by MA Group SpA, attended by Enac executives and the Italian delegation, further consolidating relations with international stakeholders in the sector.
